Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has been Phi Mu’s national philanthropic partner since 1986. “To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand.” The first line of Phi Mu’s Creed has been a call to serve others since it was written more than 100 years ago. From our earliest days of supporting a health mobile that delivered health care to women and children in rural areas to supporting toy carts for children in hospitals to our current partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Phi Mu has long been committed to lending a helping hand to those in need.
We are proud to be the only sorority to partner with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and have an alliance with the National Women’s History Museum. We were also the first sorority to establish a National Philanthropy Day more than 20 years ago. Lending a helping hand is at the heart of who we are as Phi Mus.
Gamma Lambda's Philanthropy
Phi Mu Gamma Lambda has contributed a record-setting $19 million since 1986. These funds support over 170 CMN hospitals nationwide, improving the quality of life for children across the country. Gamma Lambda’s designated CMN hospital is Duke Children’s, located just 15 minutes from our home. Each year, our chapter raises funds for CMN through a variety of events, including our largest fundraisers—Bonnamu and Casino Night—as well as benefit nights with local businesses. For more than 50 years, Gamma Lambda has been a compassionate and philanthropic sisterhood, actively striving to “lend to those less fortunate a helping hand,” as our creed states. We are proud to be the only sorority partnered with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, to have an alliance with the National Women’s History Museum, and to be the first sorority to establish a National Philanthropy Day. Lending a helping hand is at the heart of who we are as Phi Mu.
